Who We Are

About ICPP

ICPP was established out of a need to give opportunity to as many youths as possible to enter the healthcare profession with the aim of joining the growing demand for healthcare workers globally, especially the nurses.

The program is segmented into three phases:

1.Basic ICPP– this takes between six to ten months depending on the time of entry (See details below). It targets secondary school levers and prepares them in three ways:

  • Helps them to self-discover, self-manage and self-brand themselves for competition in the local and global labour market.
  • Gives opportunity for those who have missed get the required entry requirement into a course of their choice, to breech and resit the subject(s) required.
  • Positively engages participants in activities that build their self esteem, makes them healthy and introduces them to professionalism and ethical practice.

2.Intermediate ICPP – this acts as an interim support program for those who have fully decided to study with the aim of working abroad. It acts as a dual career pathway to prepare participants to meet local and foreign registration requirements, concurrently. Which means it last as long as the duration of the main course (3yrs). It offers opportunity for learning a foreign language course (English, German, or Dutch) and introduces participants to the concepts and principles of foreign registration exams, particularly NCLEX. This significantly increases participants competency and proficiency in languages, and reduces the time taken, after training, to prepare and meet the various requirements for transitioning to work abroad.

3.Advanced ICPP – this   target qualified and locally registered nurses (although soon other cadres may join). They are supported to sit for foreign professional registration and language exams. It takes six months of active training, and the rest of the period participants are engaged in either low cum training of other trainees or clinical work in the private sector.

Mission

The mission of ICPP is to prepare Kenyan Trained Health Professionals (KTHPs) using competency based and high impact training approaches to enable them to compete in the global healthcare labour market.

Vision

ICPP envisions a future where a smooth globalization process will be enabled by fair labour market practices, guided by current realities and a give and take philosophy, rather than one sided free philanthropic support.
