North Coast Medical Training College (NCMTC) continues to strengthen its commitment to community health through active student engagement in national and county initiatives.
On 24th April 2026, a team of 14 students and 2 trainers participated in an immunization outreach held at Kicheko Area, Mavoko (Athi River/Syokimau/Mlolongo). The Machakos County Department of Health organized the exercise as part of its ongoing efforts to improve public health outcomes.
The participating students represented diverse programs, including Health Records, Health Systems Support (HSS), Community Health Development (CHD), and Signet, demonstrating the college’s multidisciplinary approach to training.
Throughout the day, the NCMTC team was actively involved in key activities—from the official launch and community procession to client registration and health assessments. Their participation provided valuable hands-on experience while directly contributing to service delivery in the community.
The outreach also featured health education sessions covering critical topics such as:
- Immunization and its importance
- Child developmental milestones
- Mental health awareness
- Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
- Malaria prevention, in line with Malaria Week awareness efforts
This initiative highlights NCMTC’s dedication to producing competent, community-oriented healthcare professionals. By engaging students in real-world public health activities, the college continues to bridge classroom learning with practical impact. We actively shape healthcare providers who serve, educate, and transform communities.Living our mission ‘look Beyond the Horizon’
