Northcoast Medical Training College – Machakos Campus is pleased to announce the successful completion of its first-ever community in-reach, a significant milestone that marks the start of increased engagement between the institution, students, and the broader Machakos community.
The initial in-reach took place on Saturday, offering students their first practical interaction with health workers, patients, and the Machakos County Ministry of Health (MoH). The event served as a free medical clinic, providing essential healthcare services to local residents while giving students hands-on exposure in a real clinical environment.
Following this, on Friday afternoon, 21st November, students participated in a second visit to the same outreach site together with officials from the Machakos County MoH. This activity was conducted at A.I.C. Mt. Olive Church, located conveniently next to the campus. The proximity created an ideal learning opportunity for students to observe community outreach processes, workflow coordination, and interprofessional collaboration.
These engagements not only strengthened the students’ practical understanding of community health but also deepened the college’s partnership with the Machakos County health sector.
Northcoast Machakos Campus remains committed to nurturing competent, community-oriented healthcare professionals and looks forward to expanding its impact through continued outreach and collaboration.
