SIGNING OF MOU BETWEEN COAST GENERAL TEACHING & REFERRAL HOSPITAL & NCMTC
North Coast Medical Training College (NCMTC) entered into an agreement with the Coast General Teaching & Referral Hospital (CGTRH) for collaborative and leveraging on student attachments to improve health care services to residents of Mombasa County & beyond.
The MoU was signed on 15th July 2022 in the presence of the Deputy CEO Dr Wanjiru Korir on behalf of the CEO Dr. Iqbal Khandawalla of CGTRH, The County Attorney Jimmy Waliaula, Director of North Coast Medical Training College Dr. Marianne Darwinkel’ & the Principal North Coast MTC Madam Dorothy Tenai.
The MOU will seek opportunities where the skills and expertise of the organizations can be beneficially combined in relation to the following areas – common research projects, training and developing community-based health care interventions, workshops and attachment of students from NCMTC to CGTRH facility within specific departments enabling them achieve their learning objectives.
This MOU will go a long way in improving and implementing the health policies of Mombasa County Government and the National Government. Through this, students especially in the Higher Diploma classes of Nephrology Nursing, Clinical Medicine & Surgery Nephrology, Upcoming new courses of Critical Care Nursing & Midwifery will have the opportunity for clinical placement at CGTRH and enhance hands-on learning during their placement, which will be hugely beneficial for the students when they start practicing professionally after the completion of their respective programs.
With this MOU we hope to make an indelible impact with an emphasis on the implementation of Universal Health Coverage and to achieve our vision to be a model center for quality healthcare training in Kenya and beyond.
We welcome applicants to NCMTC for our Higher Diploma courses that are quite marketable both locally & globally.
