MOI – NCMTC COBES COLLABORATION

Community-based Education and Service (COBES) program refers to the training and learning activities that learners undertake as practical experience within local community. The community is the immediate beneficiary of all the activities as included in the scope of work in primary health care. The community becomes the learning environment in which learners engage with to address local health challenges, using Social Behavior Change Communication ( SBCC) approaches.

At NCMTC we take pride for being amongst the pioneer health training Institutions that has embraced COBES as a practical learning approach to enable primary healthcare workers to effectively empower grassroot communities to take care of their health.

The relevance of COBES as a training approach is key to producing graduates who can comfortably work in rural areas and support communities to achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC). We aim to create awareness among students on the importance of developing interprofessional and intersectoral partnerships as a means of achieving a sustainable healthcare system. It is in view of this, that we feel honored  to host Moi University to share and exchange views on how we can collaboratively enhance our contribution, as training institutions  of health workers, to the achievement of UHC by the year 2030.

We welcome Moi University to NCMTC where Quality is everyone’s responsibility!!
