Point of Care Ultra-Sound

The 4th revolution is here with us in the name of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT). No one can stop it. Wisdom requires that you ride on it.

Point of Care Ultra-Sound (PoCUS) is an outcome of the ICT revolution. Days, when Ultra-sound machine was heavy gadgets mounted on trolleys, are gone. Currently, with a smartphone and a pen-like prop, you can diagnose foetal mal-presentation, a fracture and internal bleeding. You better believe it…!

Joining the PoCUS course will open up a window for you to see almost endless possibilities of ensuring that you make the right diagnosis of your patients’ condition, more so emergency and life-threatening ones. Remember that most of our unspeakable mortality rates are attributable to our lack of technology and the time spent transporting patient along hospital corridors, or from one hospital to another,  for purpose of getting an ultra-sound, for example. Signs are that this is going to be a thing of the past, thanks to PoCUS technology. A portable mini-ultrasound is going to be just like a stethoscope, to help you support your impression of your patients status.

Become an early bird to make use of new technology to manage your patients effectively. The course is open to all clinical staff – Doctors, Nurses, Midwives, Clinical Officers, Traumatologist, Radiologist and any health worker in private practice.

Your valid question at this point may be – why should I do it in North Coast?

Our sincere answers to you are:

  • We are experts in competency-based learning – it wouldn’t take long before we prove it to you that you will be competent at the end of the course.
  • We have created a blended learning environment where we have moments of face to face, online learning; and of course, we value the practical application of Knowledge, through learning and doing.
  • We believe in empowering learners – you will finish the course as a proficient scholar capable of learning throughout your life; and a credible decision-maker, rather than a traditional techno-phobic healthcare provider, who believes the stethoscope is the only invention ever made.
  • Even most importantly, you do not have to leave your job to come and study with us, particularly if your employer is not keen to do that. We will support you to work as you study and finish your course in time, with or without COVID-19.
