Health Records and Information Technology

The Level 5 (Certificate) in Health Records and Information Technology is a foundational program designed to equip learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to manage health records and healthcare data systems effectively. This course integrates principles of health records management with information communication technology (ICT), enabling students to play a critical role in the modern healthcare delivery system.

This course prepares students to handle medical records professionally, support data-driven decision-making, and contribute to efficient healthcare administration through proper documentation and digital systems.

You will learn about the ethics of health records management, the medical terminology and classification of diseases, health information systems and electronic medical records (EMRs), office procedures and communication in a health setting, basic anatomy and physiology, computer applications and ICT in healthcare, data entry, storage, retrieval, and analysis and the legal and ethical aspects of patient information handling.

Our learning is practical oriented to ensure you really learn and be able to do what is happening in the practice of health records. Therefore, you will not only learn in school but also participate in attachments in relevant healthcare / health record settings.
