North Coast Medical Training College (NCMTC) is a private-not-for profit medical training college located in Kilifi-South. Since 2012, NCMTC is training a wide array of healthcare workers at certificate, diploma, and post-basic diploma level. It is known for pioneering competency based and student-centred training approaches in Kenya using modern training facilities and technologies. In its quest to strengthen the training team in respective departments and help facilitate learning of health workers, NCMTC is recruiting a Clinical instructor to join the respective Team in organizing, facilitating, and evaluating student learning activities and whose core tasks and responsibilities are outlined below.

Tasks and responsibility

  1. Work with Dean of students to support students who are experiencing social, emotional and psychological issues.
  2. Maintain a presence around school to be aware of the pertinent issues amongst students.
  3. Monitoring and assisting with counselling programs and help come up with other relevant programs.
  4. Assisting with conflict mediation and resolutions between students to ensure students goals are not disrupted.
  5. Reporting student issues to the appropriate authorities arises.
  6. Compile and maintain secure and confidential records of all counselling sessions and ensure that confidentiality is maintained.

Required education and experience

  • Higher Diploma or Degree in Counselling.
  • 2years relevant working experience.
  • Experienced in adolescent and youth counselling required.
  • Prior evidence engagement in adolescent and youth related activities.

Specific Works Environment.

  • Experience working in a learning institution or vibrant adolescent and youth related programs.
  • Experience with counselling principals’ techniques and practices.

Required Registration/licenses.

  • KCPA – KENYA COUNSELLORS AND PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION.
