On 8th July 2025, North Coast Medical Training College (NCMTC) officially launched its Embu Campus, marking a significant milestone in expanding access to quality medical education in Kenya. The grand opening, held amid political unrest and national tension, demonstrated the power of unity, resilience, and community support. Despite the uncertainties, hundreds of hopeful students, parents, educators, and local leaders gathered in a show of solidarity to welcome this long-awaited addition to Embu County.
The event was graced by a revered Bishop as the Chief Guest, who passionately praised the spirit of those present. “This turnout is the soul of the institution,” he remarked, “a living sign that Embu Campus is destined to grow and flourish.” His words resonated deeply with attendees, reinforcing the collective belief in education as a tool for empowerment and transformation.
Community leaders—including business owners, interfaith representatives, and local administrators—expressed full support for the campus, citing it as a much-needed resource in the region. With Embu County facing gaps in healthcare services and skills training, NCMTC’s arrival was seen as a beacon of opportunity and progress.
The Embu Campus offers a range of high-demand healthcare training programs, including the Certificate and Diploma in Perioperative Theatre Technology, Certificate and Diploma in Orthopaedic and Trauma Medicine ,Certificate in Medical Catering ,Certificate in Heath Service Support . Courses that equips learners with specialized skills needed in surgical environments.
These programs are not only practical and career-focused but also affordable and accessible—tailored to meet the needs of young people from all walks of life.
In addition to perioperative training, the campus will gradually expand to include other programs in line with NCMTC’s mission to deliver relevant, competency-based health education. With an emphasis on practical skills and ethical service, the Embu Campus is expected to play a vital role in producing future healthcare professionals who can serve both locally and beyond.
September and October intakes are currently ongoing, inviting new students to be part of this transformative
