GO FORTH ACHIEVE BEYOND
Building rapport is vital in any organization and at north coast medical training college we take pride in creating camaraderie. We had the priviledge of hosting our counterparts in the medical field namely; Kenya medical training college(KMTC) Mombasa campus. The study tour was organized by NCMTC under STUFAC(Student Facillitators).
STUFAC is a program that allows students to facillate lectures, skills or both to their fellow students for clarity purposes. This is a program that is run only at NCMTC for we pride ourselves in modelling our students to be all rounders and it also serves as an opportunity to boost students experiencing learning difficulties.
The topic for the STUFAC Exchange program was: IRON DEFICIENCY ANEMIA
KMTC mombasa campus had the opportunity to come and learn how this program (STUFAC) works and they presented Pathophysiology of Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA). NCMTC on the other hand presented:
- Anatomy & Physiology- Red blood cells & iron absorption, metabolism & utilization in the body.
- Clinical Management of IDA
- Nursing Management of IDA
- Nutritional Management of IDA
- Community Management of IDA
The STUFAC also conducted a skill which was Blood Transfusion.
The event was a very big eyeopener to both the institutions and they look forward to many more exchange programs.
“Simple exchanges can break walls down between us, for when people come together and speak to one another and share a common experience, then their common humanity is revealed.“ – Barack Obama
